Day of Mayhem!!!!

Wow! What a crazy, busy, yet absolutely great day!! I spent the good part of this morning helping my two really good friends, Grant and Jessica, make their much anticipated move to their new flat!!! We thought it would be relatively easy really.....not considering the numerous flights of stairs we had to go up and down on several occasions within a short time period ...and then the walk the rest of the way to the flat to find out the keys were at the landlords office:):):) Down the road we go again!!! Thank goodness it wasn't raining, but when your helping a friend, you dont notice the small things, and overall we had a great day;) But this city is full of stairs!! No need to join the gym, just walk the city and the numerous flights of stairs and you are golden!!!

The afternoon then continued with a trip to Primark (I think its the busiest store I've seen yet...busier than Oxford Street on its'own, and that's saying alot:) Cheap cheap prices though!!! Which is great right now! It was actually nice to get out of it though and kind of get away from the ridiculous crowd there:) For dinner, we then of course had to test out their new "flat"accomodations, and cook pizza and garlic bread for probably the thrid night in a row, becuase it is cheap, easy, and sooo good!!!

Now I have finally made it back to my residence, and put my 6 pound (that was the cost) duvet together, and bed time is looking great tonight!!! After a day of lots of walking and exercise, I don't think I'll have any problems sleeping tonight!!

Let The Adventures Begin!!

Welcome to My Blog!!!

I think I might just have too much fun with this!! So, tomorrow afternoon (Tuesday, October 27, 2009) marks the official end to my very first week in London, England...and it's been a busy week to say the least! Full of fun and adventure!! I moved here from Ontario, Canada, and was lucky enough to have two close friends from my hometown join me on our London teaching adventure!! Needless to say I feel like it's been more than a week because everyday has been filled with some kind of new, either free or very inexpensive outing within only a few small parts of the city so far! The weather has been beautiful...which is a nice change because it seems that I left the rain at home in Ontario (sorry guys:):).

We came in just before the half-term break here in London, which has given us the time to get settled as much as possible, while exploring, sight seeing, and taking tons of pictures:) Among some of the places, museums, and monuments we have visited so far include:

- The scenic Green Park and Buckingham Palace ( beautiful and absolutely amazing architechture)
- The Kensington Memorial Gardens, along side the National Museum of History (again just incredible architechture at the museum as well!)
- The Science Museum (all free admission so far!!! fantastic!!)
- Hyde Park, the scenery, and everything about Hyde park...visiting Hyde Park, espcially on the nice day we had, is like a day trip in itself for any age group..and the changing leaves...its breathtaking!!
- Today, we met up with two other fellow Canadian teachers, and watched the Changing of the Guards take place in front of Buckingham Palace...another beautiful day and quite a nice ceremony:)

...that lead to a relaxing night of not doing too much after a week of exploring!!! But I am back on the trail to adventure tomorrow, taking full advantage of the week to relax, travel, and sight see in the fabulous city of London, England!

Cheerio!!
